RESIDENCIES

SELECTION PROCESS

There is currently no call for residencies. Instead, we work on the basis of the availability of spaces and the compelling nature of the projects presented at the application stage. You are most welcome to send us your application at any time. The choice of projects is made by a selection committee, comprised of members of L’Alba and people of reference within the cultural fields. For more information, please contact the L’Alba via the contact form.

SECTORS ELIGIBLE FOR THE RESIDENCY

Four sectors are eligible for the residency: Performing Arts, Visual Arts, Literature and Books, Heritage.

THE DIFFERENT TYPES OF RESIDENCIES

The long term residency (from 1 to 2 months) is part of the transitional residency: the artist is looking for a real time of rest and questioning, a place to think and test new things, a place in which he/she is interested and participates in the life of the house and the city, while enjoying this solitary period, with the primary objective of finding his/her breath and the meaning of his/her creation.

The medium-term residency (1 to 2 weeks) is part of the production residency: this residency profile responds to a request from an artist whose objective is to create a work within a specific time frame.

The short term residency (1 to 2 days) is part of the programming residency: short stay accommodation for our artists programmed at LaAlba or at a local partner who cannot accommodate them.

ACCOMMODATION TYPE

L’Alba offers selected residents beautiful, fully renovated, independent rooms that include a kitchenette and ensuite bathroom. Included in this residential package is access to suitable work spaces. More information is available upon request.
